Neon Genesis Evangelion Photo File 02: ADAM is a book about the male characters in Neon Genesis Evangelion. There is another book entitled Eve that features the female characters. This one also contains the Eva’s as well as the angels.

Neon Genesis Evangelion Photo File 02: ADAM contains images of the male character. There is a big page for different situations the characters were in and each character gets about 3 pages to themselves. There is usually at least one character sketch, but for the most part the images are stills from the series. The best part of the book by far is the section dedicated to the Evas and the Angels. The book gives a full page or more to the Evas and at least half a page to the Angels. In addition, the book details the toy models of the Evas. This is a great book for the cost, for Eva fans.

The Neon Genesis Evangelion series itself is a piece of artwork. This artbook could have contained more than just stills though. The section containing the Evas and Angels is worth the price of the book, I am still disappointed in the lack of sketches and actual artwork.

For the price 960 Yen, (which cost me about 15$ with markup here in the states) this is a great value for fans of the Evas. You could cut out the entire male character portion (because EVAs are cool) and still have a great book.

Pretty simple. If you are a fan you should own this, however, don’t expect to see how they came up with characters or artwork.
