I was one of those that had to play Final Fantasy VIII through twice just to like it. The one thing that stood out that made this a decent game was Final Fantasy VIII Soundtrack.
As with most Square made soundtracks you have your standard trash chocobo congratulation music. However, there are some tracks on the Final Fantasy VIII Soundtrack that I don’t understand why they weren’t marketed in the US as singles. There is one vocal song, and about 3 chanty type songs that are almost worth the price of the CD. You do get 4 discs, but you will probably only use two out of the 4. As with the previous FF soundtrack there is a cool artbook insert.
This time, however, it is simply CG shots, and nothing that is ultra cool. If you are a fan of the game, go out and buy this.The soundtrack is really good, and listening to it ALMOST makes me want to go back and play it, but notice I say ALMOST. The soundtrack isn’t quite as timeless as it’s predecessor (Final Fantasy VII Soundtrack), but I could see worse investments than this.
